PE LESSONS

The following examples are lessons which 5.FUN offers to meet PE standards and concepts. Each lesson can be adapted and modified to meet the needs of a district or group. Please feel free to contact us in regards to other available movement lessons.

Backcountry Survival

Wilderness is all around us and can be a formidable adversary at times. This lesson demonstrates appropriate safety precautions, introduces various wilderness scenarios, and provides instruction on how to build survival tools with the materials around you.

Cooperative Games

Positive communication and teamwork are essential during these lessons. Students will be utilizing locomotor skills and employing tactics as they navigate through various critical thinking/physical team games. Cooperative games are expansive enough to cover multiple sessions.

Find Your Way

Getting lost is never what anyone plans to do! This lesson teaches the concepts of map reading, compass use, and triangulation of GPS. Having students take an active part in becoming independent and self-reliant individuals is a powerful instrument for guiding children to be productive and sufficient.

Low Challenge

Low challenge includes a variety of activities that will encourage students to work together to develop problem-solving skills, communicate positively between all team members, and evaluate solutions in a cooperative manner. This session is broken down into two separate categories: Low Challenge I and Low Challenge II. In Low Challenge I, students are presented with elements that require them to utilize mental acuity, critical problem solving skills, and minimal physical skills. In Low Challenge II, students are supplied with elements that not only require mental skills but a higher level of physical effort to achieve success. Each Low Challenge will be adapted to individual groups and promote success and positive outcomes.
